Servant of God Nicholas Black Elk: a witness for our time

On this episode, Chris is joined by Dr. Damian Costello, a theological expert in the life of Nicholas Black Elk and vice-postulator of his cause of canonization. For Nicholas Black Elk, vibrant missionary discipleship and love of the rosary, Latin chant, and Sacred Scripture grew organically within his own personal lifelong spiritual quest for truth and love. Nicholas Black Elk lived his life in a continuous integration as a Lakota man and fully alive in the Catholic faith. As a man who suffered greatly in the wounds of his age, yet transformed by the love of God, Nicholas Black Elk offers a model of hope, peace, and reconciliation, and may be an intercessor for the brokenness in the world today.
